The Digital Platforms team manages platforms that power our Banking & Financial Services applications and digital experience.

These platforms are providing key business capabilities and are used by hundreds of engineers to build & run their applications.

They are using some of the most advanced technologies available, and the engineering team has built up a strong set of automation and tooling around modern methods of managing cloud such as using GitOps for everything, Golang, Kubernetes Operators, OPA Gatekeeper, Prometheus and more.

We need a Chief Product Owner to manage platforms such as Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Big Data platforms, CI/CD and Secrets Management.

This is a senior role managing multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • building a vision and product roadmap that is in sync with business priorities and strikes a balance between strategic long-term investment and immediate critical projects.
  • managing the teams and ensuring they are resourced well, have a good team culture and are growing and developing
  • prioritising work, tracking delivery, and celebrating wins
  • being accountable for ensuring we implement and adhere to controls, whilst simultaneously ensuring we deliver a frictionless developer experience
  • involved in designs and have a key input in all technical work going on in the team

Ideally you will bring:

  • experience running large engineering-focussed teams in the DevOps cloud
  • space. strong background in both building out new features and capabilities, as well as operating critical platforms.
  • experience in roadmap planning & prioritisation and understanding how to balance tactical and strategic work to deliver the maximum business value with finite resources.
  • understanding of Kubernetes & Google Cloud is desirable. or extensive AWS experience is also acceptable.
